It’s been nearly a year since we started to think about the new theme for our corporate website, Cloudraker.com.  The image we had in mind for our central character, the Sherpa, in the midst of a huge mountain, was one of a Nepali loaded with a ton of luggage. Our sherpa would be equally strange and disparate, speaking a dialect nobody would understand.

We even thought that a user could ask questions to the Sherpa, and he would answer in his own incomprehensible language.

Here is one of the first illustrations of our Sherpa by talented illustrator, Eva Rollin:

The actual Sherpa on our site:

So you can imagine my surprise when I saw a living, breathing representation of this concept in an ad for Toshiba Canada Satelite notebooks, as part of their AskTheSherpa.ca campaign.

It’s very well executed and funny.

Ask a question to the Sherpa and he will answer you in his own dialect:

Ask The Sherpa
